About Atypically SocialAtypically Social was created for people who don’t need help being social — they just need the right spaces to connect. We build real-world opportunities for independent neurodiverse adults to meet others who understand them, without pressure, programs, or pretense. Because when the environment feels right, friendships happen naturally. Everyone deserves that feeling of belonging — the moment you realize you’ve finally found your people.

Who We AreWe’re people who get that making friends as an adult can be hard — not because you don’t have social skills, but because it’s tough to find your people. Atypically Social brings together neurodiverse adults in Northeast Ohio who want real connections, whether that means conversation over coffee, a game night, or something new every month.
We know walking into a room full of strangers can feel intimidating, so we make it easier. Our events are relaxed, welcoming, and designed for comfort — and if you’d like, we can help with a quick bit of coaching before you come, just to make that first step less nerve-wracking.
There’s no judgment, no pressure, and no need to act a certain way. Just chances to meet people who get you — and make a few new friends along the way.

What We OfferAtypically Social creates spaces where connection feels natural. Some events are small and hands-on — like a paint-and-sip night, holiday cookie making, or bowling — while others are open to whoever wants to come, like happy hours or a walk through the Metroparks.
Every gathering has the same goal: giving neurodiverse adults real opportunities to meet new people, share experiences, and find their people — without pressure or expectations.If you ever feel nervous before an event, you can reach out ahead of time for a quick, optional coaching chat. It’s just a chance to talk through what to expect, have a contact person at the event, and make that first step a little easier.Whether you’re outgoing, quiet, quirky, or somewhere in between, there’s a place for you here. You don’t need to perform or pretend — just show up as yourself, and see where the conversation takes you.
